Being a part of The Real Farmwives of America & Friends has some really cool perks. And this is DEFINTELY one of them!
Yes, you see correctly! I get to work with Gooseberry Patch!!! Gooseberry Patch has teamed up with us for this really awesome project called “In the Kitchen with Gooseberry Patch”. Here is how it works: Each week a new girl (this week it’s me!!!) is posted on the RFOA sight with an interview and the choice of 3 cookbooks for everyone to vote on. When the vote is tallied, Gooseberry Patch will send me two copies of the winning cookbook. I will be cooking 10 recipes over the next 3 months and posting them here! THEN at the end of my 10 recipes, I will be giving the second copy away to one of you!!!
So, dear reader, head on over to The Real Farmwives of America & Friends and help decide what cookbook I will be cooking from AND giving away to one of you!!!!
So we all know I LOVE riding horses. I grew up on a quarter horse, but now ride walking horses. They are SOOO much fun. Seriously. It’s amazing. People don’t believe me most of the time or give a half hearted “Oh…right. Sounds great (insert fake smile here)” But they haven’t experienced it yet. Once they do, they fall in love with it. Case in point…my new husband :)
Insurance is his business. Therefore, he is the “what if” guy. He couldn’t understand how anyone could WANT to get on top of this massive animal and ride around on it…let along LOVE it they way his new wife and in-laws do.
Being the wonderful, amazing, incredible husband that he is…he tried it. Not just go through the motions to give a token effort tried it, but REALLY tried it. And guess what?! He doesn’t think we are so crazy anymore! He even went so far as to say that he LOVES it too AND that he misses it when we can’t ride do to our crazy schedule! Everyone probably knows the exact moment he told me this because I am POSITIVE that my exclamations of glee were heard worldwide! :)
Donna Fargo put it best:
Shine on me sunshine
Walk Ride with me world
It’s a skippidity do da day
I’m the happiest girl, in the whole U.S.A.
Yep…here you see one happy girl :)
